Every five years all non-domestic (business) properties are re-assessed and given new rateable values by the Valuation Office Agency. This process is called the Revaluation and the next one takes effect from 1st April 2010. For the purpose of calculating liability for Business Rates, this assessment is based on rental values as at 1st April 2008 (antecedent valuation date).
